Bluebird Monitoring (May 24, 2019)

It has been a busy couple of weeks for the bluebird fledging! New bluebird nests are starting to appear in the bluebird boxes.

The Bluebird Society did not check boxes 1, 4, or 6 because they are close to fledgling. Five bluebirds fledged in box 5 and box 14.           The bluebird society monitored the following eggs along the Wren Trail (formerly the Morning Glory Trail) on the west side of Adventure Bay:

• Box 5 - 4 eggs

• Box 7 - 9 eggs

• Box 11 - 7 eggs

• Box 13 - 3 eggs

• Box 15 - 7 eggs

• Box 16 - 9 eggs

• Box 18 - 3eggs

• Box 20 - 3 eggs

• Box 21 - 4 eggs

In Box 21, the Bluebird Society was concerned they may have lost 2 of the 5 eggs they started but this check confirmed there are 4 hatchlings.

The Bluebird Society is now affectionately calling themselves the Bluebird Brigade!
