A Landscape with Legacy
Morning Glory isn’t just a new chapter in lakeside living — it’s a continuation of a remarkable story. This stretch of land has drawn dreamers and pioneers for over a century, each one shaped by the land, and in turn, shaping it.

In the early 1900s, this hillside saw the glint of ambition as prospectors carved out trails and tunneled into the rock in search of silver and copper. Remnants of the region’s mining past are still visible today, quietly tucked into the trees — subtle reminders of an era when the Okanagan was Canada’s untamed frontier.

Then, in the 1960s, the area welcomed a new kind of visionary. Drawing on a love for nature, developer Albrect von Gadenstedt imagined something extraordinary: a luxury resort like no other in Canada.

Adventure Bay Resort opened in June 1962 as a private lakeside escape where guests could fish, water-ski, hunt game birds, or even try their luck at gold prospecting in the resort’s very own Morning Glory mine — the namesake of our newest phase of development. Perched above the lake, the old mine was once accessible by road and outfitted with helmets and axes for curious visitors ready to strike it rich.
